GRANTCHESTER NEW FRIDAY / ITV / 9PM / EP 1 of 6 / DRAMA
Big secrets, shocking news and matters of the heart are set to test DI Geordie Keating and Rev Will Davenport like never before as we return to picturesque Cambridgeshire for a seventh outing of ITV’s popular period crime drama Grantchester.
It’s the long hot summer of 1959 and Will (Tom Brittney) is busier than ever as wedding season is now in full swing. Meanwhile, Geordie (Robson Green) is a shadow of his former self following his separation from wife Cathy (Kacey Ainsworth) at the end of the last series.
Here, Robson, 57, and Tom, 31, tell us more about what’s in store…
Where do we find your characters at the start of the new series?
ROBSON Geordie is lost – he no longer has the safety net of family. He’s detached from Cathy and the kids, and he’s living with Will at the vicarage, where he feels like a fish out of water. There’s a lot of scope for odd-couple behaviour.
TOM Will’s very happy in his work and his life, but something is missing. He wants some excitement.
