GUITAR BUILDING ICON ROGER BUCKNALL MBE ASSEMBLES INCREDIBLE TALENT FOR CHARITY DOUBLE-ALBUM
It’s no coincidence that some of the greatest acoustic players in the country play Fylde. There’s a deep love of craft and music in Roger Bucknall’s work that tends to attract and seek out a certain caliber of player. So when we found out he had put together a follow-up to 1977’s Fylde Acoustic record with profits going to MIND, Help Musicians UK and The Woodland Trust… we were all ears!
“I’ve often been reminded that a follow-up to the original Fylde Acoustic album from 1977 was long overdue,” notes Lake District luthier legend Roger, “and one particular customer made a more forceful comment about last September, so I started asking the artists themselves, and they were all very keen; then it snowballed.”
It certainly did; Strings That Nimble Leap – Fylde Guitars & their players features 52 artists on 43 tracks with a whopping 20 being especially recorded for this release. Such is the affection the players have for Fylde and Roger himself, there were personal tributes…
