The creators of BBC1 revenge drama Doctor Foster are back with a spin-off, and while fans can expect some familiar faces, the thrilling six-part series is set in a different world. The Manchester-based drama follows life inside a large house divided into four flats, where the residents’ topsy-turvy worlds end up intertwining and exploding.

New life

Among the residents is Belle (Victoria Hamilton), also known as Anna, the friend and neighbour of GP Gemma (Suranne Jones) in the original show.

After uncovering her husband’s affair, she has relocated and rebuilt her life under a new name. Now working as a Pilates teacher, Belle’s solitary existence is interrupted in the first episode when her fiery 15-year-old niece Maya turns up.
