How Michael Schumacher's Guardian Angel Saved Him
Woman's Day Australia|January 7, 2019

With the racing legend marking his 50th birthday milestone this week, there’s finally some good news about his health

How Michael Schumacher's Guardian Angel Saved Him

Formula One champion Michael Schumacher has been trapped in his own broken body since he was critically injured skiing with his son Mick in a horror accident in the French Alps five years ago – and mystery has surrounded his condition ever since.

But in recent weeks family members and friends have offered his millions of fans around the world a glimmer of hope that the sports star is slowly recovering from the traumatic brain injury that left him in a medically induced coma for six months.

Ever since the shocking skiing accident in which he fell and hit his head hard, shattering the helmet he was wearing, his devoted wife Corinna, who Michael calls his “guardian angel”, has been constantly at his side caring for him as the world prayed for a miracle.

And while fans are still waiting for that miracle, they were given a rare insight into his current condition two weeks ago with a report in a German magazine that he is not “bedridden or surviving on tubes”, and may be transferred to a specialist brain injury facility in Dallas, Texas, for more treatment.
