They captured the nation’s hearts as the sweethearts of Married At First Sight, but it seems Cam Merchant and Jules Robinson’s fairytale journey was too good to be true – the couple have been rocked by fresh claims that Cam had a secret girlfriend just weeks before he went on the show.
Cam and Jules had been on cloud nine with engagement news and talk of starting a family, but hours after the final episode aired, trolls took to social media in an attempt to tarnish Cam’s wholesome image with allegations about his past.
According to several comments, the former professional cricketer left behind a disgruntled ex-girlfriend just days before he found fame on TV.
“Together with a girl for four years. Attended my wedding with her. Applied for MAFS while still in a relationship. Got accepted and left the girl to be part of the show. Grub #Hungryforfame,” wrote one upset viewer.
The “girl” in question is said to be 30-year-old Tina Ciccio, a fashion industry office worker based in Manly. Sources tell Woman’s Day Tina and Cam dated from 2014 until August 2018 – around the same time he was thought to have been approached to be on MAFS.
