The winter winds are coming your way along with a new line-up of hydrating products and hacks that promise to keep your hair lustrous. However, all of this can be quite confusing with a tight pocket and hectic lifestyle. So this winter, we’re here to help you sort out your haircare regime for your winter hair woes with a mix of quick fixes and off-the-pantry concoctions to protect your mane from the chill.

DRY/ITCHY SCALP

One of the most common issues faced during winters, dry or itchy scalp can be very irritating when it affects us in full scale. Additionally, it can also lead to hairfall and in extreme cases it can damage your scalp.

Quick fix: The first step towards tackling the mindless itching is to curb those frequent shampoo sessions. When you shampoo your hair often in winter, your hair feels cleaner but your scalp takes a beating as it’s stripped of natural oils. Instead, opt for gentler shampoos that restore the pH balance of the scalp and follow it up with a moisturising conditioner that leaves your hair hydrated. In case you have frizzy or feathery hair that can’t handle those rich conditioners or masks, apply a coconut oil hair mask and massage it thoroughly for about 10-20 minutes and rinse it off.

Note: If the itching continues and becomes unbearable, it’s best to pay a visit to the dermatologist. In the meantime, pat your scalp instead of going in with a comb or your nails.
