Tiffany Hsu, Fashion Buying Director of Mytheresa, curates the interior of her Shoreditch flat as beautifully as she does the online platform.

ECLECTIC DREAMS

I like to tread the line between dressing up and dressing down,” says Tiffany Hsu as she sits curled up on the sofa of her cosy flat in Shoreditch, wearing a cropped beige tracksuit and a pair of New Balance trainers, her signature bob defiantly razor-sharp. As the fashion buying director of Munich-based e-commerce site Mytheresa.com, Hsu is one of the women shaping the way we shop, and has a particularly good eye for mixing established luxury brands with emerging talent. “At Mytheresa, we showcase just over 300 labels and that’s where we’d like to keep it,” she says. “I want to make sure it’s a tight edit—that we’re only offering what we think is the very best.”

Hsu was born in Taiwan and moved to the UK when she was 14 to attend a Shropshire boarding school. “I’d never been to a foreign country before and I could hardly speak English—it was a bit of a culture shock,” she recalls. That didn’t stop her from pioneering a new look. “I was the first girl in school to get a piercing and a pair of electric blue Kickers,” she says, laughing. “But then I grew up kind of a tomboy too, with super-short, cropped hair.”
