There is nothing that says classic like the warm rich look of mahogany furniture. TRUE LOVE speaks to Ashut Engineers Ltd about choosing ideal furniture and caring for Mahogany
When figuring out furniture for your home there are key things you ought to look out for. ‘Usually, when people admire a table and say it is beautiful, more often than not, they are reacting to two things – the architectural design of the product and the grain patterns,’ says Rupesh J. Shah, a director at Ashut Engineers.
Patterns of Mahogany furniture have a defining quality. ‘It showcases the strength and beauty of the wood. So when you naturally age wood, strength and beauty are enhanced.’
But how does one know that the furniture they are buying has been made using mahogany and not a substitute? It is easy for wood to pass off as mahogany when you use mahogany stain color.
One of the ways of telling genuine mahogany is by feeling it. Mahogany is heavier than other types of wood, and when you knock on it with your knuckles, it produces a dull sound.
