Life before
I initially wanted to be a journalist or a veterinary doctor but now I am sure that I want to pursue broadcast journalism. I have always loved international comedy acts and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is my all-time favourite show.
Getting into comedy
It all began in 2017 after my friends told me that I was very expressive and I should start making videos. I love skits based on day to day experiences and my first video was about this old guy who was hitting on me which I shot and sent to them. I was nervous because I did not know what their reaction would be. One of them liked it so much that she posted it on her Instagram profile and the rest is history.
At first, my mom and brother were not receptive but eventually, they came around - especially when I started making money and they saw that I was happy doing the skits. My first video garnered about 50 views at the beginning. That has grown to an average of 100,000 views per video, with a 129,000 following on Instagram and 30,000 subscribers on YouTube.
My audience is mostly the youth but I'm planning to generalize my content so others can also relate to it.
My favourite comedians are…Trevor Noah, Bretman, Mamito, Terrence and Kartelo.
The best thing about content creation is… the satisfaction I get when people walk up to me and tell me how much I made them laugh or how much I helped them when they were depressed.
