Hair is an important part of our appearance. Be it long or short, black or brown, curly or straight; hair defines our look. In olden days, lot of care was taken for the hair. Oil treatments, washing with shikakai and soap nuts, using henna for colouring; all the methods used were natural. However, over time there has been a lot of change in hair care techniques. We subject our hair to many chemicals and with unhealthy lifestyle, pollution and stress in our daily lives, the cases of hair fall and baldness has increased among men and women.
What are the reasons for hair fall?
There are many reasons for hair fall; the most prevalent are age, side effects of medication, excessive use of styling tools, etc. On an average, loss of about 50-100 hairs per day is inevitable and is part of the natural cycle. But when there is an excessive loss of hair, especially while combing or after a shower, then these are symptoms of a serious issue.
Apart from the causes mentioned above, careless handling, poor maintenance, and a diet deficient in protein will also result in hair loss.
