We caught up with the actress, author and entrepreneur at the Saffolalife, #Small Steps to Healthy Heart event in Mumbai, where she shared with us, the secrets behind her super svelte figure.
Fitness Philosopy
“People only see the exterior and compliment me. But internally, the shift I have made is not to look good, but to be fit. And that gives me more happiness than looking good. Looking good is just sone pe suhaga (a bonus).
“If you ask me I will tell you that it is easy to live a healthy life. But people should change their mindsets and work in the right direction towards being fit. Health is something that we really take for granted. We take it seriously only when there is a health issue. Fitness has to become a lifestyle modification. My belief is: Why can’t we take precautions, instead of spending money on cure?
“Eating healthy, staying active and being happy are the small steps we can take to build a healthy mind and body.”
Fit With Yoga
“My fitness regime isn’t as big as people think. I don’t do cardio. I walk in my house, garden or the beach and never take the lift. I just do my breathing exercises regularly. I believe that breathing has a lot to do with your wellness.
“And I am a die-hard follower of yoga. Yoga gives your body the flexibility and agility it needs. I perform pranayama, padahastasana, makarasana, ardha salabhasana, bhujangasana, vyaghrasana, utthanpadasana and virabhadrasana. Apart from that, yoga is also a wonderful way to make sure that your entire system is well taken care of! I also meditate every day to give my mind the calm it needs. After all, a healthy mind is a healthy body.
