Yeh Dukh Kahe Khatam Nahi Hota

I am a fan of Karan Johar’s movies, where, as they say, “If everything is not right, it is not the end yet.”

Yeh Dukh Kahe Khatam Nahi Hota
After all, life is all about happy endings, isn’t it? In fact, a friend of mine gave me the moniker of “KJo” as I always saw life with rose-tinted glasses while he saw life with the so-called Anurag Kashyap lenses, where everything was dull and sad. Anyway, today I am going to write about the title of this article. Being a KJo movie fan, this movie Masaan skipped my attention completely. There is a famous dialogue/scene in this movie, where one of the characters shares with his friend “Saa*e Yeh Dukh Kahe Khatam Nahi Hota (Why isn't there an end to this pain?)”. The incidents that led to this scene are immaterial.

The minute you ask such a question or talk along these lines on any social media sites or share this with anyone close to you, they will all jump around you, ask ing, “Oh, what happened, are you sad? Is something wrong in your life? Think positive. Times are such, what can you do?”

Yes, times are such. The world has been brought to its knees due to a virus. I know I have a decent job; I know I have food to eat, a roof over my head and yes, I do not need to worry about my meals for the next few weeks at least. And no, I am not depressed. I am a happy person.

As a child when we are growing up, our parents try their best to see that we don’t suffer any pain. Even when we get a small cut, they immediately rush to console us, put a Band-Aid and offer their shoulder to cry on. They keep us protected from pain.
