Located on Camber Sands, Mark and Kim Leversedge’s luxurious house is a childhood dream come true.
Purchasing this weatherboard house was the realisation of a dream Mark Leversedge had held since he was a child.
‘I used to look at it when I was playing on the beach because it’s located right on the sand, and think, wow, what an amazing place to live,’ he says.
Years later, Mark let his wife Kim into his secret and she, too, fell in love with the idea of living in the property just yards from the sea. By this time, the couple had three young children and Mark was busy running his own marketing company in London. He began to see the beach house as an opportunity to escape. ‘I was working crazy hours and barely seeing my family,’ he explains. ‘So, every so often we’d come down here and put a note through the door asking if the owner wanted to sell, but he always said no.’
Then, in early 2007, the owner changed his mind, but Mark was disappointed when he saw the asking price. ‘It was too high,’ he says. ‘I just thought, that’s that then, we can’t afford it. We’ll have to forget about it.’
