Durban-based interior design studio Fyfe Boyce is all about designing homes splashed with soul

When he launched his own interior-design company at the age of 23, Bruce Fyfe was young but ready. The Durbanite had already worked for KZN heavyweights Cécile & Boyd, and Mario Rodrigues. ‘Mario pretty much kicked me out the door after I’d been working for him for two years,’ laughs Bruce, recalling his mentor’s conviction that he was ready to go it alone. Sixteen years later, Fyfe Boyce (named after his business-and-life partner, Kelsey Boyce, as well as himself ) is a soughtafter studio, with projects around the country and in Zimbabwe.

‘When Kelsey and I met in 2005, he had come from a corporate-marketing, systems-based background,’ says Bruce. ‘I started teaching him about design.’
