All things industrial inside this 62-sqm bachelor pad
“I wasn’t really into industrial things, but it ended up like this,” begins unit owner Marc Lawrence Legaspi. Marc is an IT expert based in Singapore since 2010. With an established and stable career, he purchased this 62.5-square meter loft in Manila as an investment. Prior to making the purchase, he listed down all the things he wanted to have inside his condo and the word “industrial” was not there. It was after his brief stay in Melbourne that Marc fell in love with the industrial style. “They had these brekkie cafes with brick walls and worn-down architecture. That’s when I told myself, ‘I want my condo to look like that.’”
Since Marc works abroad, he bought the unit to have it rented while he’s away. Upon turnover, he knew the unit needed some sprucing up to entice potential renters. He needed someone from Manila who could fulfill his vision. Luckily, his friend knew interior designer Kenj So. “I used to be a part of a design firm and this is the very first project I did on my own— glad the client was very trusting,” shares Kenj.
