As a contrast to their period home, the owners of this renovated property have gone for a striking contemporary interior with the bespoke open plan kitchen as the core of the space. ‘We had intended on living in the house prior to carrying out the renovation, but the house was in such poor condition that living there wasn’t an option. Between choosing an architect, settling on a design, going through the planning process, picking a builder and arranging funding it was well over a year between purchasing the house and beginning the renovation. The renovation itself took six months.’
It was the couple’s architect who recommended Savvy Kitchens as the designers of choice for this unique renovation project. ‘We visited the Savvy Kitchen showroom in Thurles and were very impressed with what we saw. We met designer Andy Spillane there and were very imprssed with his knowledge and design suggestions. That was that really, we knew instantly they were the company for us.’
