Working together, a talented interior designer and architectural designer transformed an ordinary estate house into a sophisticated home for a thoroughly modern family.
From the outside, this family home on a golf estate in Durban resembles the others in the complex. However, it’s only when you walk inside that you realise that this is no ordinary house. There’s drama, glamour and plenty of interest, but all underscored by a sense of comfort.
But it wasn’t always like this. Although the existing house was on a level stand with lovely views, it was far too small for this family of five. To gain the space and flow they wanted, while still keeping within the guidelines of the estate, the owners consulted interior designer Celeste Bushnell and architectural designer Nick Green.
