A chat with two father-daughter architect jugalbandi who share their passion for architecture and life
How did you decide to team up?
Gian: GPM Architects has been in the industry for almost 35 years now, and as a parent, it was my wish that my daughter joins the firm at some point in her career. Though it seemed like a natural choice for us to team up, as we both bring very different sets of viewpoints on the table; and I think that’s what is helping us bring in a change in our firm’s outlook.
Mitu: My father is a very methodical professional and has built this firm from scratch with his arduous hard work. During my architectural studies, I developed an interest in urban design. This experience and outlook have helped us generate interesting dynamics in our partnership and our approach towards our work.
What do you admire most about each other?
Gian: Her dedication and design sense. She is extremely dedicated towards her projects and has been productively able to manage time between her family and her work, something which is very important for a woman. I also admire her design aesthetics and her passion to do something different and innovative in each project.
