How to cope with AN ACCIDENT AT WORK

Q WHAT IS MY EMPLOYER’S RESPONSIBILITY TO ME?

A Employers are responsible for the health and safety of their employees while they are at work. If you’ve been injured in an accident at your workplace, you are entitled to make a claim for compensation. Accidents at work include injuries caused by slipping or tripping, work machinery or equipment, or from heavy lifting.

Q BUT IF I MAKE A CLAIM AGAINST MY EMPLOYER, AREN’T I BEING DISLOYAL TO THEM?

A Certainly not. The majority of businesses have to be insured in case anyone is injured while at work, so your claim will be covered through the company’s insurance policy. You won’t be claiming directly against your employer as long as they have insurance in place.
