SCIENCE has proved that the ageing process can be slowed down or even reversed through positive thinking pattern and changes in lifestyle. We decide that after 50 years we must take care of our health and be careful about the food we eat. We decide 60 or 65 years is the right age to retire. As soon we retire, our body begins to slow down because this is what we were expecting, The process of reversal of ageing must begin at the mind level, deep inside us. Hence one should always have positive thoughts and feel young and energetic to beat ageing.
If the mind is set on a course of rejuvenation, the body will follow suit. Adi Shankracharya said, “people grow older because they see others getting old”. A great many celebrities all over the world have been asked the secret of their younger looks, health and longevity. For some “it is the driving ambition to do something” that kept them going and for some “it is the way one looks at the future with optimism and excitement”. What is becoming clear is that ageing depends on individual perception.
Nothing holds more power over the body than the mind. If we believe deeply that something will happen, it will definitely happen. Often people say: “I knew that this would happen.”
This is sankalap shakti or will power. When we are convinced of something, our efforts bring results. Nothing holds more power over the body than the mind, Hence, we should always have youthful and positive thoughts. It will keep us young in body and spirit.
