The Wacky World Of Golf Car

Some regions of the country are more golf car friendly than others. Some areas are finally conceding that golf cars are here to stay and are growing in popularity. And other areas are tightening the reigns on golf car use. Regardless of where you live in the country, changes in golf car regulations likely affect you in some way over the course of 2017. We have compiled a few impactful examples to share with our readers.

• Ohio is Pro Golf Car

Beginning on January 1, 2017, Ohio laws permit golf cars to legally travel on any roadway with a speed limit of 35 mph or less. Golf cars will be treated like any other vehicle and, as such, will be required to undergo a vehicle inspection to ensure that specific safety features have been added to the golf car. The inspection for golf cars, considered to be “under-speed vehicles” includes:

• Adequate braking system

• Brake lights, head lights, and turn signals

• Functioning steering mechanism

• Windshield

• Rear view mirror
