Carolina Herrera de Baez, the woman behind Carolina Herrera fragrances, sat down with Marie Claire Malaysia to share the creative process and inspiration behind her brand new eponymous fragrance, the Good Girl. She also lets us in on some quick-fire facts about herself and her personal goals for the year
Run us through the creative process of Carolina Herrera Good Girl?
It was a very long creative process that took more than two years. All the different teams worked at the same time: bottle design, the perfumer, the campaign and the story, but usually the most important aspect is getting the juice just right. In Good Girl, the bottle also presented a challenge for us, both technically and aesthetically.
Tell us about the meaning behind the name Good Girl?
I wanted to highlight the duality of women. We can be good but we can also be a bit naughty. We are mysterious, sensual and powerful.
Would you say you consider yourself a good girl—with a bit of a bad side?
Definitely!
