When it’s Donald Trump, it’s got to be outrageous. Michael Wolff’s latest book Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House dishes out scandals in large doses, as it delves into the behind-the-scenes events at the White House that unfolded in the first 100 days after Trump coming into power. Trump is probably the only leader so far, who ran for presidency with the intention to lose. Read on…
“I can be the most famous man in the world. This is bigger than I ever dreamed of. I don’t think about losing, because it isn’t losing. We have totally won,” Donald Trump told longtime buddy Roger Ailes, the former head of Fox News, a week before the election.
The whole world was going berserk with every word that came out from Trump’s mouth during his campaigning. Starting from his first speech on June 16, 2015, where he spoke about building a wall between US and Mexico arguing, “When Mexico sends its people, they are not sending their best. They are bringing drugs. They are bringing crime. They are rapists.” This was followed by him calling for a complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States. Not to mention his statement that allegedly led to gun shootings in his name later on. “I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn’t lose voters,” Trump declared with pride.
The situation became so frightening to sensible Americans that when Hillary seemed to be failing in attracting voters, some big names from Hollywood like Robert Downey Jr, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson and Jullianne Moore among others, came together and urged the citizens to vote but not for ‘a racist, abusive coward who could permanently damage the fabric of our society’, in actor Don Cheadle’s words. They even announced that if Americans voted for Hillary and protected the country, Mark Ruffalo will go fully nude in his next movie, much to Mark’s surprise. Well, even though Mark was spared, Trump wasn’t.
