Aurelio has come a long way from Austria to Auroville, India in his journey as an internationally known sound healer. Society delves into his profession and the way it touches lives.
When we first heard of someone being a sound healer, we were not sure of what to expect from such a person. The quizzical question appeared — what is that? Indeed, most people would ask the same question. In a country where something out-of-the-box is rarely heard, this is quite a new thing. An invite to the Global Festival of Spiritual Sciences (GFSS) in Bengaluru this year got us connected with Aurelio, who happens to be an internationally renowned sound healer. He conducted a Sound Immersion Session.
For those who are not aware of Aurelio, this Austrian is a communal artist and innovative activist who is now based in Auroville, India. The founder and creative director of SVARAM, a vocational training and music research station, is renowned organologist, ceremonial musician and sound therapist. Another aspect to his work profile is that he is heavily into development of new musical instruments and music ceremonies. And he was at the festival where you could find meditation sessions, transformational workshops, panel discussions, spiritual concerts, speaker talks, mind shifts, deep connections and opportunities to expand yourself. We took the chance to talk to Aurelio about sound immersion and music therapy.
A Sound Healer, Communal and Innovative Artist, Organologist, Ceremonial Music Creato and Sound Therapist. It is quite a mouthful and yet most of us would probably ask Aurelio about his field and his work profile. With a calm attitude, he responds, “Having travelled around the planet, lived in diverse cultures and living in the International community project of Auroville since 27 years, I work internationally in teaching, exploring, researching and practicing the healing potential of sound. Directing a community based enterprise of 50 artisans for designing and building musical instruments and sound installations, I also actively participate in artistic projects and performances.” It is as simple as that.
