Operating a fleet that is both technologically advanced and fuel-efficient, Lufthansa has long been delivering premium flights that also take the environment into account.
After the Allies dissolved the first Lufthansa that was started in 1926, Luftag was founded in 1953. The next year saw Luftag buying the familiar name and trademark from the first Lufthansa. Their endeavour succeeded, and in 1955, two Convair airplanes took off from Hamburg and Munich to commence scheduled air services.
Lufthansa is rated as Europe’s first and only five-star airline by the UK rating agency, Skytrax. This places it among the top 10 best premium airlines in the world. During the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2017, Lufthansa was awarded the first place in three categories of ‘Best Airline in Europe’, ‘Best Airline in Western Europe’, and ‘Best First-Class Lounge Dining’. The 2016 installment of the Skytrax Awards saw Lufthansa receiving the awards for ‘Best Airline Transatlantic’ and ‘Best Airline in Western Europe’.
