Vihari Sheth-Poddar’s curated design portfolio highlights ultra-rare coloured diamonds that the jeweller has exclusive access to.
Earlier this year, guests of singapore tatler were given the exclusive opportunity to view one of the largest collections of coloured diamonds ever to be displayed in the city state. The showcase by Vihari Jewels saw diamonds of varying sizes, cuts and colours take centre stage, one more exquisite than the other. But the highlight was undoubtedly the 16-carat cushion-shaped yellow-green diamond, the largest of its kind to be showcased in Southeast Asia.
Few jewellers can boast such access to rare stones, but Vihari Sheth-Poddar benefits from her family’s 50-year history in the diamond industry. A decade ago, she set up her eponymous line of designer jewellery, offering her clientele of high profile jewellery collectors exclusive stones that span from Colombian emeralds to coloured diamonds. Over the years, she has laid her hands on the most exceptional coloured diamonds in the world, including the largest vivid yellow sparkler, the Yellow Dragon—weighing 110 carats—in 2010.
