In April this year, my fiancée Jennie and I travelled to Vinkovci, in Croatia to take part in the CRO5 detecting rally.
This was the fifth of a series of rallies organised by both Steve Gaunt and Gordon Heritage, in association with Vinkovci Museum and the Croatian archaeological authorities. All detecting finds are donated to the museum by the participants. This was our second rally out in Croatia, having attended the first, CRO1, back in 2014. Steve and Gordon are excellent hosts who always arrange fantastic catering including pig roasts (Fig.1) and superb entertainment (Fig.2) to make the experience all the more special.

Lost and Found?
There have been several instances over my long detecting career where, not only has it has been a delight to be able to help people who have lost things, but also a great thrill when such losses are returned to their owners. I have several memories of such occurrences.
