‘Having Children Taught Me Who I Am'

Quinne Brown is a stalwart actress on the much-loved local soapie 7de Laan and, in 2011, became a certified doula. She lives in Randburg with her husband Ryan, 44, and their two daughters – Charlotte, eight, and Lara, five.

What is your earliest memory?

It must have been from when I was a toddler, because I can remember riding on my dad’s back and playing with our St Bernard, Lola, and her newborn puppies. My siblings and I grew up on the Westrand in a fun and happy home.

Did you have a career Plan B?

I wanted to be a conservationist and, even though I got hooked on acting, my dream of working with endangered animals never died. In 2002, I ended up helping on a project to relocate elephants from South Africa to Angola. Working with those gentle giants was incredible, and my best bucket-list experience.

The worst decision you’ve ever made?
