For many people, forty is an age where it is time to take stock of your health and fitness.
Food has been eaten to excess – you are low on time, highly stressed, and the body you had in your twenties has been substituted for a pear.
Motivation is at an all-time low. You don’t really know where to start, and the thought of starting from scratch in the gym is like getting a broken down truck moving again.
The best workout in the world is the one you stick to. Finding a workout you enjoy is one key to results - another is creating accountability. Arranging to meet a partner or group will make sure you make the effort to get down to the gym. We have found strongman style training is not only great fun for men and women but also produces great physical and mental results, it’s social plus it’s a great stress buster.

Goals
Without a goal, your workout lacks fire; we need to set some targets.
This could be fat loss, strength or muscle building. First its good to log down a base.
Take photos in front of a white background front, side and rear.
Also with a tailors measure take basic measurements - chest, waist, arms, legs, and note down your body weight.
If you can, take your body fat with callipers or a use a decent machine. This can be repeated every three weeks.
Now you need to set some goals that are high stakes to you.
These could be - dropping 10% body fat, lifting 200kg or improving your posture. Write them down, as this will help fire up your workouts.
Accountability
A training partner or group will boost your drive in the gym, push you harder than you would on your own, plus make certain lifts safer.
Having accountability to ensure you turn up to regular sessions is a real boost on those days you’re not feeling it. The chances are once you get into the gym and warmed up you will pretty feel good.
