The Aqua Blue rider had hunted his first pro win for over four years - then two came at once

Larry Warbasse

The team went crazy when I won my Tour de Suisse stage.

I think there was so much build-up around the team and we’d been riding really well, doing everything right, but the win hadn’t come yet. Every race we went to was like, ‘Okay, we want to win a stage here,’ but it just was never really panning out. I guess there was a little bit of pressure building up inside the team – not that there was any stated pressure or anything like that – but everyone was just like, ‘It’s about time we won something.’

As soon as I got in the break I thought I could win.
