Starring as Amazonian tribal woman Orana in the new Wonder Woman movie, Mayling Ng is one tough cookie you should watch out for.
Time to throw those stereotypes out the window, ’cause if you haven’t already noticed, the Damsel in Distress trope has begun to lose its appeal in the movie world. Enter a new slew of strong independent women – who don’t need no men to save them from the bad guys.
With many of such character roles to her name is Mayling Ng, an actress with a background in personal training and martial arts who performs her own stunts in action movies. Born in UK to a Singaporean Chinese father and British mother, the feisty power woman has recently wrapped up filming for the upcoming Wonder Woman movie. She’s currently residing in Los Angeles, where she enjoys hiking up to the Hollywood sign and Santa Monica Mountains.
We can’t reveal much about the movie, but according to Mayling, “It’ll blow your mind not only because of the strong women and storyline, but also because the action scenes may rival any you’ve ever seen.” We’re definitely looking forward to it!
