Still a military man at heart, Capt. Amarinder Singh is preparing to roll out his cherished election-time promise of including retired service personnel in Punjab’s development. Although no specific date has been set as yet, the ‘Guardians of Governance’ (khushaali de rakhwale) scheme, in which ex-defence personnel from all the three services will be recruited to serve as the eyes and ears of the state from the village-level onward is good to go.
