The 26-year-old was in top form for Accrington Stanley last season but when his contract expired in the summer, he wanted to weigh up his options.
Fortunately, a deal with Nathan Jones’ Luton came on the table, returning Clark to the Championship for the first time in eight years in a “no-brainer” decision.
Barely 100 minutes of playing time later and things are going rather well for the winger.
Clark impressed as a sub in the Carabao Cup first-round win against Norwich before planting a bullet header past Reading in midweek to set up Tuesday’s third-round clash with the Red Devils at Kenilworth Road.
“As soon as I scored, all I could think about was playing United,” he said. “I couldn’t actually believe the header myself, to be honest. A couple more would be a result!
