My Bees' Quality Is Giving Me Real Buzz
The Football League Paper|January 28, 2018

THERE has to be a degree of apprehension from a new manager when he walks into any new club. Especially when that club is rooted to the bottom of the Football League, as Barnet are right now.

My Bees' Quality Is Giving Me Real Buzz

You never know what you are going to find, or how the players are going to react to your ways.

That said, my experience at Barnet has been an absolute pleasure. It feels as though I’ve walked into a treasure trove!

There is absolutely no doubt that I have inherited players who will definitely move onto higher levels in the very near future.

The one thing that you want as a manager, above all else, is an attitude of ambition and learning amongst your players. That really is the key to everything.

From minute one, it struck me clearly that the Barnet dressing room is filled with a desire to improve. Minds were immediately open and eyes and ears were eager to take new ideas on board.

Then it is about talent. You want to find abilities. Again, talents struck me firmly as I watched my new charges go to work.
