WASTEFUL Wrexham rued a missed opportunity, according to boss Dean Keates, after playing out a goalless draw with play-off rivals Chesterfield.

In a game of few chances, the visitors probably had the better opportunities, and Theo Vassell cleared one off the line for Wrexham.

But with neither side able to find a breakthrough, the hosts were left to rue their failure to back up the attacking quality that had brought eight goals in their previous two matches.

“We were poor, we look at ourselves. But I think it’s probably a fair result,” he said. “Our quality in the final third just wasn’t there, where it has been in the last two games, and that’s the frustrating part of it.
