RICHARD Fey is hoping the end of lockdown can spell a change in fortunes for Melksham Town – and start another promotion push just like last season.
Town will have not kicked a ball for six weeks by the time December 2 arrives after assistant Nathan Rudge and two players tested positive for Covid-19 forcing the club into isolation before the national restrictions were imposed.
It added to frustrations for the Pitching In Southern League Division One South club who have lost five and won once in their first six league fixtures.
Fey is in his second season as a manager after rebuilding Melksham last term and leading them to fifth before the null-and-void decision arrived.
They have found it difficult to rediscover their form after the extended break and honest Fey knows why.
