DANNY Robinson admits he cried like a baby writing his resignation letter at Thatcham Town – but couldn’t turn down the opportunity to make a two-league jump and join Hungerford Town.
The 34-year-old manager has ended a five-year spell with the Kingfishers during which time they won the FA Vase and Combined Counties Premier League in 2018 before sitting top of the Southern League Division One South when the season was cut short.
Meanwhile, cash-strapped Berkshire neighbours Hungerford were bottom of National League South and have wasted little time in finding their new boss after Ian Herring stepped down last month.
Robinson started his managerial career at the age of 21 and brings a track record of success to his new challenge at Bulpit Lane – but only after a painful goodbye.
