HE MAY still be stranded in Berlin, but new Ebbsfleet United boss Dennis Kutrieb is already hard at work and determined to make the most of what he describes as the opportunity of a lifetime.
The Fleet caught everyone off guard with the appointment of Kutrieb this week, but a glance at his footballing CV makes for formidable viewing.
In a few short years of management, the 40-year-old nurtured a cult following in Germany and was given the respected title of Erfolgstrainer, translated simply as “top coach”, by the country’s widely read Kicker Magazine.
His unofficial title has the hallmarks of another European manager who arrives in the English game determined to make a name for himself.
And much like the man dubbed The Special One – Jose Mourinho – did 16 years ago, Kutrieb is coming off the back of a success -laden run in his homeland.
