More Migrants Risk Lives At Sea Despite Channel Tragedy

DOZENS of asylum seekers arrived in the UK in small boats yesterday - just days after five people lost their lives trying to cross the Channel.

The new arrivals came in five boats. One group, including a small number of women and children, were brought ashore at Dover, Kent, at 11am after their boat was intercepted by Border Force officials.

They had blankets wrapped around their heads and shoulders after making the perilous crossing from France in temperatures of 3°C.

But less than an hour later, a second group of migrants, mostly men, were escorted into the harbour.
