Nicola Sturgeon's husband was arrested yesterday amid an investigation into the SNP's finances.
Former Scottish National Party chief executive Peter Murrell, 58, was taken into custody before 8am and questioned.
Police vehicles were parked outside the party's headquarters in Edinburgh, and at former First Minister Ms Sturgeon and Mr Murrell's home in Glasgow.
Tents were erected on the property and officers searched a shed. There was also a cordon outside.
Mr Murrell was released at 7pm pending further investigation.
