Former Dublin star Paddy Andrews has opened up on his horror injury in 2019, which he says was the exact same as Eoghan McLaughlin’s fractured jaw at the weekend.

Mayo defender McLaughlin was knocked out in last Saturday night’s All-Ireland semi-final at Croke Park, after a John Small shoulder caught him in the jaw (below).

McLaughlin has since undergone surgery and will miss the All-Ireland final in three-and-a-half weeks’ time.

Speaking to ‘The Football Podcast,’ on Newstalk, Andrews wished McLaughlin “a speedy recovery.”

He went on to hit out at what he called the trial by social media of players — in this case, Small — labelling it a ‘a load of b*****ks,’ insisting there was no malice in the challenge.
