Irish couples are spicing up their sex lives during the coronavirus lockdown and sex toy sales are through the roof.

Shawna Scott, the owner of Sex Siopa, said her online shop has never been busier and she has seen a massive 40% jump in pocket vibrator sales alone.

Speaking to the Irish Sunday Mirror, the 35-year-old added people are trying to cheer themselves and their partners up during self-isolation.

She said: “The sales of everything has increased dramatically. It’s steadily increasing every week.

“Last week was just insane. It seems to be increasing the more we go into this. When we went into quarantine we had a 20% to 30% jump in sales and this week I’m looking at 30% to 40%. Vibrators and lubricants are doing very well at the moment and are top sellers.

“The biggest seller is the bullet vibrator. I’m getting a lot more people who are buying sex toys for the very first time too.

“They are suddenly in quarantine and have nothing else to do and have more time on their hands.

“I’m also noticing a lot of couples buying sex toys for their partners who are not quarantined together. I’m getting people emailing me saying, ‘My partner and I are in quarantine in separate houses and I want to get them something to pass the time’.
