Covid Is A Plague On All Our Families ...If You Row Over It

THIS pandemic is making people go stir crazy.

I’m no longer speaking with two lifelong friends after their snide comments online about my views on Covid-19 in this very column.

I was left scratching my head over one of them because he had always had a good head on his shoulders before suddenly sounding like Donald Trump recently.

But the other one’s a no-brainer to figure out – he’s a pilot who lost the plot when I argued nobody should be going on holliers.

He claimed it was “below the belt” when I pointed out to others his self-serving agenda for attacking me.

The daft term “Pandemic Pause” is now being used for such bust-ups.

It brings to mind Gwyneth Paltrow’s equally absurd “conscious uncoupling” comment when splitting from Coldplay’s Chris Martin.

This new catchword feels hollow because countless friendships have ended – not paused – over wars of words on FB. They will not emerge from the rubble once the dust settles.

Perhaps Covid-19 Ceasefire sounds better.
