Merseyside Police released an image of the Enterprise van and said officers urgently want to speak to the occupants as potential witnesses.
Det Supt Sue Coombs said: “We are sharing a still image of a van which was in the vicinity of the incident.
“To be clear, we think the vehicle’s occupants are witnesses and in no way suspected of being involved.
“However, we still need to speak to those people as soon as possible to confirm what information they might hold.”
Yesterday the force also released two new images of Ava provided by her family, who are being supported by specialist officers. They show Ava in her school uniform and smiling in a restaurant.
