The winning entries in one of the biggest ever school competitions celebrating black British history included pictures, poems, essays and videos.
The initiative was run by Every Generation Foundation, a social enterprise that aims to promote the history of diverse communities, and was founded by the Windrush campaigner Patrick Vernon. He also Co-founded the 100 Great Black Britons campaign, and the competition entrants were asked to base their submissions on people from that list.
