Food For Ukraine Is Still Needed As Funds Sought

A PLYMOUTH businessman is appealing for funding to help purchase desperately needed food for refugee camps and cut-off communities in Ukraine, but fears that donation fatigue is slowing ahead of winter.

Andreas Evangelou, co-owner of Annabel's Cabaret and Discotheque, set off with another haul of supplies to Ukraine last Sunday - his fourth aid mission to the country. He crammed a variety of donations and supplies into a horsebox he has purchased to be able to carry more goods, as well as a roof box on his car.

Cans of tuna fish and large containers of Nutella - which is sought after because it is highly calorific are due to be distributed to refugee settlements, including a camp which he is supporting.

Mr Evangelou has also been taking hundreds of surgical gowns and sterile masks to hospitals and frontline medics, as well as combat jackets for those directly involved in combat against Russian invaders.
