Mandatory creation of Eco Clubs to be one of the themes of the academic year
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has called for the mandatory creation of Eco Clubs across schools and focus on water conservation as one of the main themes for the current academic year. It has directed schools to set a target to become water efficient in the next three years.
The focus on water conservation is in consonance with the Central Government’s Jal Shakti Abhiyaan initiative.
Incidentally, educational institutions across the city were among those affected when several areas faced a water shortage last summer.
