Guwahati: Assam on Tuesday will be the first in the country to resume normal pre-pandemic life without any kind of Covid-19 restrictions that existed till the last part of March 2020. The state had closed down for the first time under the nationwide lockdown on March 25 two years ago.
There will be no more curfews or restrictions on offline classrooms and on gathering of people in cinemas, meetings and wedding ceremonies. The mandatory testing for passengers at airports, railway stations, road border points, and before admission and OPD services in hospitals will also cease to be in force, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Monday.
