Hyderabad: After a lull of more than a year, operators of instant loan apps are slowly beginning to make calls to customers again.
In the last two months, recovery agents claiming to be representatives of instant loan apps have been making calls to recover money loaned more than a year ago.
There had been a lull in their operations after police crackdown in Telangana and a few other states on different companies across India, mostly run by Chinese nationals. Six people had killed themselves in Telangana last year after being harassed by telecallers who threatened and even defamed customers by sending messages to everyone on their phone contact list. But now some of the customers are getting calls again, though the tone is polite with a request to pay up dues and a warning of legal action.
