TULIP MANIA: Srinagar’s tulip garden saw a record 3.5 lakh visitors, both locals and tourists, between March 23 and April 16, up from 2.2 lakh during the same period last year, reports Saleem Pandit. Tulips started blooming early this year, but have now started to wilt due to a rise in temperature, and the garden will be closed to tourists from Monday, floriculture secretary Sheikh Fayaz said. According to tourism director GN Ittoo, over 1.8 lakh tourists visited Kashmir in March, the highest in over 10 years
